Bayelsa United Coach, Teibowei set for AITEO Cup
Bayelsa United Coach, Diepreye Teibowei has said that the 2020/2021 AITEO Cup will provide another opportunity for his team to compete for ticket in the continent after years of absence.
Coach Teibowei spoke ahead of the round of 32 fixture against Nigeria National League (NNL), campaigners, Nigerian Air Force, NAF FC.
He said the game billed for today at the Ilorin Township Stadium would be approached like a cup final.
The experienced tactician noted that with the current crop of players in the squad and the team sprit, the target of Bayelsa United was to go beyond the round of 32 before facing Enugu Rangers in the round 16.
He stressed that the most prestigious football competition in the country is the best chance to advertise outside Nigeria.
While reflecting on the team’s current position in group B2 of the southern conference in the NNL, Coach Diepreye Teibowei believes it is not impossible for an NNL team to win the AITEO Cup.
The Bayelsa United handler acknowledged that Bayelsa United are as good as any other team in the country despite playing in the second tier of the league.
