Manchester United said they had ‚Äúlistened carefully to the reaction from our fans, the UK government and other key stakeholders‚ÄĚ in making their decision to not take part.

Arsenal apologised and said they had ‚Äúmade a mistake‚ÄĚ, adding they were withdrawing after listening to their fans and the ‚Äúwider football community‚ÄĚ.

Tottenham‚Äôs chairman Daniel Levy said the club regretted the ‚Äúanxiety and upset‚ÄĚ caused by the proposal.
