Special Assistant to the Bayelsa State Governor on Students affairs sets to Organise the 3rd Edition of Emerging Leaders Conference.
The Special Assistant to the Bayelsa State Governor on Students Affairs, Hon. Atti Joshua says, the 3rd edition of Emerging Leaders Conference would hold on the 12th of June, 2021.
The Emerging Leaders Conference which is put together by the office of the SA on Students Affairs is organised annualy and it is targeted at students and youths to build their intellectual capacities.
The SSA made this known while speaking to newsmen at Government House, in Yenagoa.
According to the SA, he has usauly put together the event to make Nigeria’s Democracy Days, which was usually the 29th of May and it started in the year, 2018, pointing out that with the renaming of June 12th as the new democracy day by President Mohammadu Buhari, hence, the 2021 edition would now take place on the 12th of June, 2021 at the Bayelsa Medical University Auditorium by 10.
Hon. Atti Moses also informed that the theme for this year’s edition is, “The Role of Science, Communication and Technology in Youth Development”, adding that the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri is expected to be the Special Guest of Hounour. While, the first lady of the State, Mrs Gloria Diri will be the mother of the day.
According to him, also expected to be in attendance are, Senior Secondary students, youths and student leaders, voluntary uniform (Paramilitary)organisations, Youths Corp members and the general public.
The SA further noted that this year’s edition would have been the 4th, but due to the COVID-19 Pandemic that ravaged the entire World, the event couldn’t hold but with more preventive and control measure being put in place by the World Health Organization, Federal and States Ministries of Health prompted the organisers to repackage the event to take place, adding that all the COVID-19 protocols during the event would be adhered strictly to.
