Suspected Fulani Herdsmen on Friday 19th of February 2021,allegedly attacked a farmer and his son in the hometown of former President Good luck Jonathan, leaving both farmer and son in a critical condition.
The victims who were rushed to the Federal Medical Center in Yenagoa the state capital are responding to treatment admist the timely intervention of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Central zone.
Earlier today, Chairman of IYC central zone Comr Clever Inodu and Dee Mitin, information officer IYC central zone was at FMC to get firsthand information on the young boy and his Father from Otuoke Community that was brutally butchered by Herdsmen along the new Otuoke road…..
The nonchalant attitude of FMC in attending to thier patient is a discuss for another day. By our financial and physical intervention and by the Grace of God the boy and his dad is responding to treatment.
Council, has for the past one month received series of complains as regards to the issues of Herdsmen, and we have been keenly following up thier activities…… Hence we have called for a meeting of critical stakeholders of the IYC and the MiyetiAllah cattle rearers association of Bayelsa State and other cattle dealers associations operating in the State.
The meeting will take place next week in Ijaw house and the outcome will be made known to the public. We are equally using this medium to call on all Ijaw youths to be calm on issues relating to Herdsmen because Council is on top of it. Be rest assured that all the happenings we hear on daily basis from other part of the country will be strongly resisted here in bayelsa state……
